MABEL LETTIERI
One of Mabel Lettieri's first memories takes her back to an artist's studio and her first tactile encounter with unknown materials like worm wood and soft clay. She was only 5. From that moment on, art became part of her life. As a teenager, she worked as a custom and fine jewelry apprentice, realizing that she and her love for art would be inseparable. She completes her college studies with a degree in Applied Art Education. Mabel's teaches special needs people while working in metal and wood shops. But her passion for learning new design and art techniques, takes her onto a different path. She discovers the "magic" of glass while working at Casa González, in Buenos Aires, Argentina and falls in love with its vast possibilities, especially in stained and fused varieties. She delves into learning all of its known techniques while discovering ancient ones. Her first professional show, "Art in Decorating" takes place at the Cultural Center of San Martín in 1996. Today, Mabel's workshop is also an art school, teaching up and coming vitroartists. She continues to participate in art and trade shows. She is a regular contributor to newspapers and magazines writing about her art, techniques and school, and she is frequently asked to participate in radio and television programs. Mabel Lettieri's goal is to spread the word about glass art. |
