DUA begins in 2003, a dream come true for designers Ayelen Martin and Maria Simonetti.
Their journey begins shortly after graduating from the Fine Arts College of the National University in La Plata, Buenos Aires, with degrees in design in visual communication. Their mission is to incorporate ancient coppersmith techniques and timeless architecture with current fashion and so they develop a line tapestry handbags with copper handles.  Although the bags were well received, their copper work was most noticeable. And as their fans ask for more, Ayelen and Maria create their first jewelry line, drawing inspiration from both nature and ancient cultures, but developing their own trendy style.
DUA is constantly evolving, with new and exciting designs both in form and in color. Maria and Ayelen continue to experiment with copper oxidation techniques having achieved not only the typical green and turquoise hues, but also browns and reds and most recently grays and silvers. The designers hope to continue to expand their line in the international market.
